Now, here’s the thing: a high-wattage tube is great for fast cycle times because of the heat density, but it’s tougher on your wiring. If you’re looking at a 2000W+ lamp, just double-check that your controllers can handle the current draw. You don’t want to be dealing with tripped breakers in the middle of a shift.
Quartz, coatings, and the nitty-gritty
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because we don’t want your filaments burning out prematurely. It’s about making the gear last. Depending on what you’re actually heating, we can do coated tubes. These shift the emission spectrum so the heat hits your material more effectively. For example, if you’re working with PET or plastics, a shortwave setup is usually the way to go—it just gets the job done faster. As for the fit, we stick with standard R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re simple drop-in replacements for most industrial ovens. They snap right in. No headache, no fancy rewiring.
The reality of the shop floor
These lamps take a beating, especially in PET blowing and drying lines. They live at extreme temperatures for thousands of hours. But there’s a trade-off. High output means the surrounding housing is going to get hot. Really hot. Make sure your cooling fans are up to the task, or you’ll risk warping your machine frame. We build the hardware.
