They use shortwave infrared (SWIR), which is a fancy way of saying the heat goes straight into your workpiece. It doesn&amp;rsquo;t waste energy heating up the air around it.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The Power Side of Things&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Packing 2500W into a small quartz tube creates some serious heat. Because of that, you’ve got to be careful with your power supply. If your voltage is jumping all over the place, you&amp;rsquo;re going to kill the filament way sooner than you should.&#xA;Most of these run on high-voltage setups. It&amp;rsquo;s the only way to hit that 2.5kW mark without the current getting out of control. Just make sure your specs match the lamp exactly, or you&amp;rsquo;ll be replacing bulbs a lot more often than you&amp;rsquo;d like.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why the Quartz and Halogen Matter&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Inside that high-purity quartz tube is a tungsten filament. Now, normally, that filament would evaporate and gunk up the glass. But we add halogen gas to stop that from happening.&#xA;It creates a cycle that keeps the glass crystal clear, meaning you get a steady, strong output for thousands of hours.&#xA;Depending on what you&amp;rsquo;re doing, you might want a gold or reflective coating. That basically forces the heat in one direction, which can double the intensity on your target. As for the fit, we usually go with R7s or SK15 bases. They should slide right into your industrial ovens or PET blowing machines without any fuss.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The Trade-offs&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the thing: the ramp-up time is incredible. You get heat almost the second you flip the switch.&#xA;But that kind of power comes with a warning. That quartz tube gets&lt;strong&gt;white-hot&lt;/strong&gt;. If you don&amp;rsquo;t have the right housing or enough cooling fans to move the ambient heat, you&amp;rsquo;re looking at melted wires or ruined reflector shields.&#xA;These aren&amp;rsquo;t meant for a slow, gentle simmer. Use them when you need a fast, hard hit of energy to cure a coating or soften some plastic.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
