Simple, but effective.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why medium wave?&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the thing: if you&amp;rsquo;re drying organic coatings or working with plastics, medium wave is your sweet spot. Short-wave lamps happen to be too shallow, and long-wave emitters take up way too much space in your shop. This lamp hits right in the middle.&#xA;We added halogen gas to the mix to stop the filament from evaporating too quickly. It keeps the quartz glass clear and means you aren&amp;rsquo;t swapping out burnt-out lamps every other week.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The SK15 Plug&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;The base is a standard plug-in connector, which is a lifesaver when you&amp;rsquo;re in the middle of a production run. If a tube goes, you don&amp;rsquo;t have to rewire the whole heater bank. You just pull the old one and drop in a new one. Done in seconds.&#xA;One quick tip: keep an eye on your socket tension. If the connection gets loose, you&amp;rsquo;ll get hotspots that can actually melt your housing. Not a great look.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;A few things to watch out for&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;These lamps push a lot of heat into a small area, so that quartz gets incredibly hot.&#xA;**Never touch the glass with your bare hands.**Even a tiny bit of skin oil creates a stress point on the glass, and once it heats up, that&amp;rsquo;s where it&amp;rsquo;ll crack. Use gloves.&#xA;Also, don&amp;rsquo;t neglect your reflectors. If your polished aluminum or gold coating is dirty, you&amp;rsquo;re basically throwing away 30% of your energy.&#xA;And one last bit of advice for the electrical side: these lamps pull a heavy load. Make sure your contactors can handle the inrush current. If they can&amp;rsquo;t, you&amp;rsquo;ll end up with welded contacts, and that&amp;rsquo;s a headache nobody needs.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
