Getting the Power Right When we’re picking the right lamp, it all comes down to how much heat you actually need. If you’re doing something heavy-duty—like PET blowing or rapid curing—you’ll probably want those high-wattage tubes running at 230V or 400V. The higher voltage is a lifesaver for longer tubes (think 300mm or 500mm) because it keeps the temperature steady from end to end. But here’s a heads-up: if you’re pushing a lot of wattage, your housing needs to breathe. Use a proper heat sink or some forced-air cooling, otherwise, your reflectors might start to warp from the sheer intensity. The Nitty-Gritty of the Build We use quartz glass because it can handle the heat and lets the IR rays pass right through. Depending on where you’re using them, we can add a special coating.
