If you’re in stretch blow molding, you know the struggle. You need that PET preform soft enough to shape, but not so cooked that it ruins the bottle. That’s exactly why we built our 1600W 240V halogen IR lamps. They’re designed to hit that sweet spot. Why the 1600W power matters Here’s the thing: if you heat too slowly, you get uneven walls. One side of your bottle is thick, the other is thin, and suddenly you’ve got a quality control nightmare. By running at 240V with a 1600W output, these lamps blast shortwave radiation right into the material. It gets the preform to its glass transition temperature fast. Really fast. And that means your cycle times stay low, which keeps your production moving. The secret is in the “Half-White” coating You might be wondering about the “half-white” part. Standard clear quartz lamps can be a bit too aggressive. They tend to scorch the surface of the plastic while the inside stays cold. Not ideal. Our half-white coating acts like a filter. It reflects certain wavelengths to balance the heat, pushing the energy deeper into the PET instead of just burning the outside. No more ugly burn marks. Keeping things running smoothly These are simple drop-in replacements for your existing oven banks. But a quick heads-up: since they pull 1600W, just double-check your wiring and contactors. You don’t want a burnout because your cables couldn’t handle the current. One more thing—quartz is finicky. A single fingerprint or a smudge of oil on the glass can create a hot spot, and that’s how you get a cracked tube. Use lint-free gloves. Always. And while you’re at it, take a look at your reflectors. If they’re pitted or covered in grime, you’re wasting energy. Keep them polished, and you’ll get every bit of that thermal power where it belongs.
