Here’s the thing about voltage and wattage: it’s all about heat density. If you use a 400V high-voltage tube, you can cram more wattage into a shorter space without blowing a circuit. But the real secret is in the filaments. We calibrate ours so the heat stays steady from one end of the tube to the other. No “hot spots.” Because when you get those spikes in temperature, that’s exactly when your heater burns out way too early.
The Stuff We Use (And Why It Matters)
We stick with high-purity synthetic quartz. Why? Because it lets the infrared light through without blocking it. Sometimes, you need the heat to go deeper—like when you’re working with PET plastics in blowing machines. For those jobs, we add specialized coatings that shift the spectrum so the heat actually penetrates the material instead of just sitting on the surface. And nobody wants a headache during installation. So, we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in. You can swap out your old lamps without having to rewire your entire machine. Plus, we use reinforced crimping on the leads. Machines vibrate. A lot. This keeps the connections from snapping when things get shaky.
The Real-World Trade-offs
Now, a word of caution. High-density heaters move a lot of heat, and they do it fast. But that puts a real load on your system.
