If you need a massive amount of heat and you need it now, these 2000W halogen lamps are your best bet. We built these for those high-intensity jobs where you can’t afford to sit around waiting for a machine to warm up. The Power Stuff At 2000W and 235V, these things put out a serious amount of shortwave infrared radiation. We stuck with the 235V spec so they stay steady even when your industrial grid is acting up. The 495mm length is where the magic happens. Just a heads-up: if you’re swapping these into an old oven or a PET blowing machine, double-check your reflectors. They need to line up perfectly with the length of the tube. If they’re off, you’re just wasting heat at the edges. Why Quartz and Halogen? Inside that quartz tube, there’s a halogen cycle going on. It’s a simple trick that stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and gunking up the glass. You know how cheap lightbulbs turn black over time? This stops that from happening. The tube stays clear, and the heat stays consistent. You’ll also notice a white coating on the lamps. It’s not there to look pretty. It actually tweaks the heat spectrum so it penetrates deeper into your materials without scorching the surface. It’s all about getting the heat in without burning the outside. A Few Tips for Installation These are pretty much “plug and play” for most industrial IR arrays. Just pair them with a PID controller to keep those temperature spikes under control. But here is the thing: 2000W in a small space creates an incredible amount of heat. Seriously. If your cooling fans aren’t up to the task, you’re going to fry your wiring insulation or burn out the ends of the lamp. And please, for the love of your equipment,keep the quartz clean. One fingerprint—just a tiny bit of oil from your skin—creates a hot spot. When the lamp hits full temp, that spot will cause the glass to crack. Use a clean cloth, keep the oils off, and you’ll be golden.
