We add a specialized red coating that does two things. First, it shifts the heat spectrum so it actually sinks into your materials instead of just bouncing off the surface. Second, it kills that blinding glare. Your operators will thank you—nobody likes squinting through a welding line all day. The nitty-gritty on power If you want things to heat up fast, you’ve got to look at the voltage-to-length ratio. Basically, the higher that ratio, the more “punch” (or power density) you get. It means your ramp-up time drops significantly. And because these things get incredibly hot, we use high-purity quartz. It’s tough. It doesn’t warp or crack when the halogen cycle starts pushing the temperature to the limit. It’s more than just a pretty color That ruby layer isn’t there for aesthetics. It actually changes how the tube emits heat. To make your life easier, we use standard connectors like R7s or SK15. You can just pop them into your existing machines without a headache. These connectors are built to handle heavy current, so you don’t have to worry about your housing melting into a puddle. Plus, the quartz is the only thing that can handle a tungsten filament and halogen gas without having a chemical meltdown. Where these actually live You’ll usually see these in PET blowing, plastic welding, or curing lines. The ruby coating is great for spreading heat evenly. It stops those annoying “hot spots” from burning holes right through your thin films. But here’s the catch. Because of that coating, you lose a tiny bit of raw heat compared to a clear lamp.**Don’t try to fix this by cranking up the voltage.**If you over-voltage the tube to compensate, you’ll fry the filament and kill the lamp’s lifespan.
